MacKenzie Summers is a freelance artist from Peterhead who specialises
in authentic Celtic, and Celtic influenced, Illumination, Calligraphy
and Design.
His artwork, based on twelve years of intensive study of Celtic
Illumination, has been successfully exhibited both nationally and
internationally, at galleries in Stirling, Edinburgh and London and at
three Japanese exhibitions, in 1998 he became the 26th recipient of the
Annual Award of the Association at the International Calligraphers
Association's Exhibition at the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Following on from his Celtic Illumination seminars during the Japanese
tour the artist has been invited to convene the Celtic Illumination
seminar and workshop at the Drachenwald Scriptorium, a symposium on 6th
– 16th century Illumination techniques for advanced
European Illuminators and Calligraphers.
The artist currently sells original work and limited edition prints and
is available for private, corporate and clan related commissions. A
